Fernandez has been found guilty of a traffic violation by Llanelli Magistrates' Court for failing to identify himself as the driver of a Porsche that allegedly ran a red light in Carmarthenshire as per the BBC. On December 27 of last year, the 23-year-old Argentine was charged of withholding information from Dyfed-Powys Police. He is now due to be sentenced on September 11 for his violation.

Earlier this week, Fernandez and his Argentina teammates came under fire for their racist chants regarding the African heritage of multiple players in the French national team. After a lot of criticism, the 23-year-old issued an apology, however, the issue is still not over as the France Football Federation (FFF) has threatened legal action against the players in question.
